Harry’s 2018 Holiday Cocktails

“It’s that time of year when the world falls in love
Ev’ry song you hear seems to say ‘Merry Christmas,
May your New Year dreams come true…’”

Frank Sinatra sure had it right, didn’t he?

The holidays are such a magical time, especially for us at Airlie. The grounds are aglow with twinkle lights, families and friends are gathering together, and love and laughter fill the air. Our farm-to-table restaurant, Harry’s, has been open a full year, and hopefully you have had the chance to experience a meal there.

From December 1-24 during regular hours, Harry’s will have complimentary house-made hot cocoa and eggnog for all to enjoy, and enhance your visit to Airlie during the holiday season.

Plus, the bartenders at Harry’s are truly masters of mixology – and the 2018 holiday cocktail list is no exception. Assistant Restaurant Manager Sam Schuller has created a little something for everyone. While he has included all of the recipes here, each cocktail will also be featured at Harry’s throughout the season, so plan to join us if you can! Without further ado, here are our 12 holiday cocktails for 2018.

Cranberry Kamikaze cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 oz. vodka
  • 1 oz. orange liqueur
  • 1/2 oz. lime juice
  • 1/4 cup cranberry juice
  • Splash of simple syrup

Directions: Combine in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a collins or martini glass with ice.

Moscow Reindeer cocktail ingredients:

  • 2 oz. vodka
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 6 oz. ginger beer
  • Handful fresh mint

Directions: Fill copper mug with mint and muddle. Add ice, vodka, lime juice, and top with ginger beer. Sprinkle crushed candy cane or whole stick to garnish (optional).

Apple Pie on the Rocks cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 oz. vanilla vodka
  • 1 oz. Fireball cinnamon whisky
  • 4 oz. apple juice
  • Pinch ground cinnamon
  • Cinnamon stick
  • Brown sugar

Directions: Garnish rim of rocks glass with brown sugar (optional). Shake and strain vodka, Fireball, apple juice, and cinnamon into a rocks glass with ice. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

Peppermint White Christmas cocktail ingredients:

  • Candy canes
  • White Crème de Cacao
  • Champagne

Directions: Garnish rim of Champagne flute with crushed candy cane (optional). Fill one third of the glass with Crème de Cacao and top with Champagne. Add candy cane to Garnish.

Sugared Cranberry Ginger Mimosa cocktail ingredients:

  • Cranberry juice
  • Champagne
  • Ginger beer
  • Sugared cranberries

Directions: In order, fill one third of Champagne flute with cranberry juice, Champagne, and ginger beer. Garnish with three Sugared Cranberries.

Five Golden Rings cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Goldschlager
  • 1 oz. butterscotch schnapps
  • 1 oz. apple cider
  • 1 oz. port wine

Directions: Shake and strain all ingredients into a martini glass. Garnish with cinnamon stick or dry apple ring (optional).

Raspberry Russian cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 oz. vodka
  • 1 oz. Chambord
  • 1 oz. heavy cream
  • 3 fresh raspberries

Directions: Muddle raspberries, add ice. Add the heavy cream, Chambord, and vodka. Stir and serve.

Jack Frost cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 oz. cream of coconut
  • 1-1/2 oz. vanilla vodka
  • 1-1/2 oz. creme de cacao

Directions: Shake and strain all ingredients into snifter. Add 2-3 ice cubes.

Sugar Cookie cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 oz. peppermint schnapps
  • 1 oz. Kahlúa
  • 1 oz. Baileys Irish Cream

Directions: Shake and strain all three ingredients into rocks or martini glass over ice. Use raw sugar for the rim and/or top of drink for garnish (optional).

Gingerbread Martini cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 oz. vanilla vodka
  • 1 oz. Frangelico
  • 1/2 oz. butterscotch schnapps
  • 4 oz. ginger beer
  • Float of dark rum

Directions: Shake and strain the vanilla vodka, Frangelico, and butterscotch schnapps into a highball or martini glass with ice. Top with ginger beer. Float dark rum on top. Use crushed gingerbread cookies to garnish rim of glass (optional).

Peppermin-tini cocktail ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 oz. vanilla vodka
  • 1 oz. peppermint schnapps
  • 1 oz. Half & Half
  • Candy cane stick

Directions: Garnish martini glass rim with crushed candy cane (optional). Shake and strain vodka, schnapps, and Half & Half into glass. Add candy cane stick as “stirrer.”

Peppermint Patty cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 oz. White Creme de Cacao
  • 1 oz. Cream
  • 1 oz. Peppermint Schnapps
  • 1/2 oz. Godiva Liqueur

Directions: Garnish martini glass rim with crushed candy cane (optional). Shake and strain all ingredients into glass. Add candy cane stick as “stirrer.”
