2019 Holiday Cocktails from Harry’s at Airlie


The holiday season is our favorite time of year for so many reasons – a joyful feeling in the air, the twinkling sparkle of Airlie grounds covered in lights, hosting guests as they celebrate with family and friends – and the list goes on. A few years back, the team decided to share some of our favorite cocktail recipes in a “12 days of holiday cocktails” format. 2019 marks the fourth year of designing and publishing this list – our small gift to you as we celebrate the season. Since the opening of Harry’s in 2016, we have a place for you to come and enjoy the cocktails (and let us do the work!), but also love sharing our recipes with you to recreate for your own yule-time festivities. This year, Harry’s Mixologist Daniel Kleer has created six new drinks guaranteed to get you in the spirit. (Please note: titles marked with a * will be served at Harry’s throughout the 2019 holiday season.)

Canadian Christmas* cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz Canadian Whiskey
  • ½ oz Maple Syrup
  • 1 ½ oz Lemon juice
  • pinch of ground Cinnamon
  • Angostura bitters

Directions: Combine all ingredients, except bitters, (syrup last) into a shaker with ice, shake hard for 6 seconds. Strain into an Old-Fashioned glass with ice. Add a dash of Bitters and garnish with lemon peel.


Pine Feller cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz Bourbon
  • ½ oz Pine Honey syrup
  • 1 oz Apple Cider
  • 1 oz Iced Tea
  • Caramelized apple Slice

Directions: Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir and the strain on to fresh ice in a high ball glass. Garnish with a Caramelized Apple Slice (Slice ¼ in. thick slices of green apple, coat in white sugar and brûlée with a torch.)


Ball Drop* cocktail ingredients:

  • 4 ½ oz Prosecco
  • 1/2 oz Luxardo
  • 1 Maraschino Cherry

Directions: Pour 1/2 oz Luxardo into a Champagne flute then top with 4 ½ oz Prosecco. Roll cherry in white sugar and then carefully drop the cherry and let it sink to the bottom.

Blizzard Mojito cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 oz White Rum
  • ½ oz Coconut Rum
  • 1 oz Coconut Milk
  • ½ oz Lime Juice
  • ½ oz Simple Syrup
  • Airlie Mint
  • Soda
  • Pomegranate Seeds

Directions: Muddle 3-5 mint leaves in a shaker with simple syrup and lime juice. Add ice and combine the white rum, coconut rum, and coconut milk. Shake hard for 6 to 8 seconds. Strain into a Tom Collins glass over ice. Top with soda and garnish with pomegranate seeds and mint leaf.

Dark Chai Eggnog cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 oz Belmont Dark Chai Rum
  • ½ oz Catdaddy Moonshine
  • Winter Spice Bitters
  • 1 oz Cream
  • Eggnog
  • Cinnamon Stick

Directions: Combine the Rum, Moonshine, Bitters, and Cream in a shaker with ice. Shake hard for 3 – 5 seconds then strain into glass. Top with Eggnog then stir with cinnamon stick and leave for garnish.


Cranberry 75* cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 oz Beefeater Gin
  • ½ oz Lemon Juice
  • ½ oz Simple Syrup
  • Dash Spiced Cranberry Bitters
  • Champagne

Directions: Combine Gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and bitters in a shaker with ice. Shake hard for 10 seconds and strain into a Champagne flute. Top with Champagne and float cranberries.

Cranberry Kamikaze cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Vodka
  • 1 oz. Orange Liqueur
  • 1/2 oz. Lime Juice
  • 1/4 cup Cranberry Juice
  • Splash of Simple Syrup

Directions: Combine in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a collins or martini glass with ice.

Moscow Reindeer* cocktail ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Vodka
  • 1/2 Lime, juiced
  • 6 oz. Ginger Beer
  • Handful Fresh Airlie Mint

Directions: Fill copper mug with mint and muddle. Add ice, vodka, lime juice, and top with ginger beer. Sprinkle crushed candy cane or whole stick to garnish (optional).

Peppermint White Christmas cocktail ingredients:

  • Candy Canes
  • White Crème de Cacao
  • Champagne

Directions: Garnish rim of Champagne flute with crushed candy cane (optional). Fill one third of the glass with Crème de Cacao and top with Champagne. Add candy cane to Garnish.

Five Golden Rings* cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Goldschlager
  • 1 oz. Butterscotch schnapps
  • 1 oz. Apple Cider
  • 1 oz. Port Wine

Directions: Shake and strain all ingredients into a martini glass. Garnish with cinnamon stick or dry apple ring (optional).

Raspberry Russian cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Vodka
  • 1 oz. Chambord
  • 1 oz. Heavy Cream
  • 3 fresh Raspberries

Directions: Muddle raspberries, add ice. Add the heavy cream, Chambord, and vodka. Stir and serve.

Peppermin-tini* cocktail ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 oz. Vanilla Vodka
  • 1 oz. Peppermint Schnapps
  • 1 oz. Half & Half
  • Candy Cane stick

Directions: Garnish martini glass rim with crushed candy cane (optional). Shake and strain vodka, schnapps, and Half & Half into glass. Add candy cane stick as “stirrer.”
